Insurance Work and Health Group

Based in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University, we conduct research on work and health, including in people applying for various forms of insurance and social welfare.

We currently lead a number of large national studies across social assistance, workers' compensation and motor vehicle crash compensation systems in Australia, including studies funded by the Australian Research Council and the National Health and Medical Research Council.

We work in collaboration with researchers at Monash University and other Australian and international research organisations, and with many government, industry and community organisations.

We gratefully acknowledge the icare Foundation NSW and Monash University for their support for this project.

Insurance and Care NSW (icare) has strengthened its partnership with Monash University by investing in this study through the icare Foundation. icare Foundation is investing in the first stage of the study, which will help Monash University to enrol more people and track their outcomes over a longer period of time.

The results will enable icare to understand changes to the way people work during and after COVID-19, and the impacts these changes have on workplace health, safety and productivity. It will also provide regular insights on the factors that support return to work.

Insights from the COVID-19 Work and Health Study will enhance the support icare provides to NSW businesses and the community as we recover from this global pandemic
